I feel a little bad saying this, but what a ridiculous book!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I picked it up because it was one of the most popular books on leslibraires.ca a few weeks ago, and I have to admit I\u2019m a little taken aback by it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The book isn't bad at all, but it feels like it's made up of three or four different, unfinished pieces that have been cobbled together as best as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Here are the stories that have been started but not yet finished, which make up this novel<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n There were many frustrating aspects, especially those involving the crazy woman who is the mother of the assaulted little girl and the wife of the pathetic murderer. She walks all over everyone, constantly quoting the latest astrological predictions she\u2019s gleaned from her favorite magazine. She\u2019s a danger to her daughter, whom she despises because she wanted a boy, and the whole family mopes in silence rather than doing anything to protect the poor girl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Her murderous husband never gets caught for his crimes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The little girl who was attacked didn't tell anyone about her attacker, and he eventually died in an accident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At least the spy story has a conclusion. That was actually my favorite part of the book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n All the chapters are titled with a sentence taken\u2014seemingly at random\u2014from that same chapter. So they don\u2019t really tell us much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the end, we\u2019re left with a very vague and vague teaser about a possible upcoming book. And why would I be interested in that?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Actually, I never understood why the book was called \"A Bright Future\"<\/em>. I\u2019m not entirely innocent; I suppose that\u2019s ironic, but I still <\/em>dont get it. When did this book ever mention the future? It seems like the author just threw two words together that he thought sounded cool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In short, I wasn't very impressed. Son mari meutrier ne se fait jamais attraper pour ses meurtres. La petite fille agress\u00e9e ne d\u00e9nonce son agresseur \u00e0 personne, et celui-ci finit par mourir dans un accident. Au moins, l’histoire de l’espion a une conclusion. C’\u00e9tait d’ailleurs ma partie pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9e de l’histoire. Tous les chapitres sont titr\u00e9s avec une phrase tir\u00e9e, un peu au hasard on dirait, de ce m\u00eame chapitre. Ils ne nous disent donc pas grand-chose. \u00c0 la fin, on a une accroche tr\u00e8s grossi\u00e8re et tr\u00e8s vague sur un probable prochain livre. Et pourquoi est-ce que je serais int\u00e9ress\u00e9e, moi? D’ailleurs, je n’ai jamais compris pourquoi le livre s’appelait Un avenir radieux. Je ne suis pas compl\u00e8tement innocente, j’imagine que c’est ironique, mais je ne comprends quand m\u00eame pas. Quand a-t-il \u00e9t\u00e9 question d’avenir dans ce livre? On dirait que l’auteur a mis deux mots qu’il trouvait cools ensemble. Bref, pas tr\u00e8s impressionn\u00e9e.
